The tidal pool complex of Leça da Palmeira was one of Pritzker Prize winning architect, Álvaro Siza Vieira's first solo projects. Located on the rocky coastline of Matosinhos, north of Porto, the pools provide shelter to swimmers from an otherwise often hostile and unpredictable Atlantic Ocean.
Almost half a century since its completion in 1966, the pools have retained their architectural integrity, perfectly harmonising natural and man made elements.
Inspired by both the work of Álvaro Siza and warmer days here in Edinburgh, we take some of our favourite pieces from our SS21 Womenswear collection on 'holiday' to Portugal.
