Store Manager

Currently we are looking for an experienced and passionate retail professional to assist with the day-to-day management of the shop, driving growth by providing exceptional sales, administrative, and managerial support to the owners. Above all, the right person will have a passion for high-end fashion and design, along with a keen understanding of how to foster an elevated customer journey through all sales channels.

Key Responsibilities 

Sales & Customer Service & Performance

The shop floor is at the centre of everything we do, from buying and merchandising to marketing and events. It’s the heart of our business, where new and returning customers have an unmatched opportunity to see, feel, and hear what our shop is all about, making it our most important and valued sales channel. For this reason, your top priority will be to maintain our high shop floor standards, both visually and in terms of customer service, providing an elevated in-store experience for all customers – and ultimately driving sales. Demonstrating a detailed understanding of our sales targets, you will analyse Dicks marketing activity against performance and KPIs, monthly, quarterly and annually. With a significant focus on online audiences, you will help us increase digital customer engagement and conversion, and working in collaboration with the director.

Training and Staff Development

As an experienced and enthusiastic advocate of Dicks values, you will curate and deliver training modules on everything from elevated customer service to brand and product knowledge. By empowering, inspiring and frequently checking in with the Assistant Manager and Sales Associates, you will forge a strong team spirit and in turn ensure that service standards, customer communication and content are all in keeping with our ethos.

Operations

As a customer-focussed retail business, we have an eye for detail and take pride in our friendly, efficient and knowledgeable service. As Store Manager, you will offer a high level of support across all channels, whether processing online orders, creating and uploading new products to our website and shop floor support when necessary. Our carefully curated shop floor is something of a talking point, so you will help ensure that all products are regularly replenished and well-presented. Effectively monitoring the flow of stock from product photography to production, you will collaborate closely with the Assistant Manager to ensure that the team clearly understands this process.

HR

Our small but talented team sets us apart from other, bigger retailers, and we strive to foster a genuine sense of belonging and ensure that employees are always welcomed and well looked after. You will play a key part in the recruitment and onboarding process, working with the Assistant Manager to ensure that the team achieves a high level of integrity and professionalism in accordance with Dicks brand values, sharing your infectious enthusiasm for fashion and superlative customer service. Managing everything from annual leave requests to appraisals and ongoing training opportunities, the Store Manager is a cornerstone of our retail family. In addition, you will take the lead with the stores Health and Safety procedures and regulations, supporting store safety, standards compliance, code of conduct and company policy.

Marketing

At Dick’s we are genuinely passionate about the products we sell, and this inspirational approach comes across in our marketing activity, whether online or in-store. We regularly invite friends and customers to our eagerly anticipated shop events, and you will be on hand to ensure these are a success. What’s more, you’ll assist with a range of PR and digital marketing opportunities, contributing content to our regular periodical and newsletters, and assisting with in-house photoshoots when required.

Person Specification 

Required Skill and Experience

This role requires an experienced and self-motivated Store Manager with exceptional organisational skills, superlative levels of customer service, an analytical mind and impeccable attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in a similar role, preferably with experience of a high-end retail environment. With excellent interpersonal skills, you will be happy to build lasting relationships with our customers, suppliers and team. A confident and eloquent communicator, you will be equally at home talking to customers on the shop floor as you are drafting content for digital marketing.  Above all, you will be friendly, approachable and enthusiastic, with a love for simple, beautiful and well-made goods.
