The bronze-casting Werkstaette Carl Auböck was founded in the 19th century in Vienna. Carl Auböck II attended the Bauhaus school and was inspired by the classic simple lines of the Bauhaus movement.
The stone is taken from the Danube and partly covered in leather. Each piece is unique in its nature. The stone as well as the egg, foot and hand paperweight could be found on the desk of Walter Gropius.
